Red Light Therapy - How Long, How Many and How Often

A few of the questions that I am most often asked by interested or new clients are how often do I need to come for treatment, how long will my sessions take, and how long will I be in treatment (aka how many sessions).


The simple answer: It depends on you!


There are multiple factors that come into play when answering those questions such as, what are you seeking treatment for, what is your wellness budget, and what are your goals?


If you are seeking treatment for Fat Loss, your sessions will be roughly 45 minutes (with the exception of your first and last sessions because we need a few extra minutes to take measurements and pictures). During each treatment, you will spend 25 minutes in the Contour Light Machine and 10 minutes on the vibration plate. This protocol will eliminate fat cells and boost collagen production, serotonin, and your lymphatic system.


The creators of the Contour Light Machine (the Red/Infrared Light Machine that I have) have made the following suggestions for number sessions:

If one wishes to lose 5 pounds, a minimum of 6 sessions is suggested, 5-10lbs 10-12 sessions is suggested, and 12-20lb 20 sessions is suggested.

**However, I would much rather look at inches vs. pounds for client suggestions and results. I highly suggest that clients make positive fitness and nutritional changes to their lifestyle in addition to RLT and may be adding muscle mass as they are losing fat so the scale may not give you a totally accurate picture.


If you are seeking treatment for pain, (post-surgical, chronic, or injury based) your session will be 20 minutes. We will wrap or cover the area or areas of your body that you are experiencing pain.


If you are coming to see me for concussion or any type of head/brain trauma, or anxiety and or depression, we will wrap your head for 20 minutes.


Thyroid and other auto-immune concerns are also best treated with 20 minute sessions.


Skin conditions, healing, and scarring will also be treated with focused light attention at the area of concern for 20 minutes.


With the exception of Fat Loss, the other reasons for seeking treatment and how many session questions are a bit harder to answer as your condition/concern is totally unique to you and we can determine how many sessions will best support you after we connect.
